Terry Docherty ‘Mistral’ Acoustic
This Exquisite Acoustic grand concert shaped Guitar was made by local Luthier Terry Doherty in 1998!
Its been meticulously crafted from AAA grade solid woods .With a European Spruce Top, East Indian Rosewood back and sides ,Ebony fingerboard and Bridge.The sides are bound with rosewood and Boxwood purfling, with brown and white herringbone pattern edging the top and echoed around the Rosette.
The Rosewood back has an inlaid ‘zipper’ spine stripe!
The neck is carved from 3 pieces of Brazilian Mahogany .The headstock is Brazilian Mahogany with high quality Schaller pegs that keep the tuning rock solid!
It was Crafted by Terry in the Woodhorn Colliery museum , in the early days of the museums opening , when it had craftsmen studios operating in the Building.
It plays with a luscious , luminous tone, rich and warm yet bright and clear- a beautifully balanced sound!
Terry made a series of these Mistral Guitars in the 90’s with Rosewood stock bought from Stefan Sobel at the time . All of these Mistral are with their original owners, this is rare chance to buy one of your own!
